Shebear came to Erin Prout @eye_detic_ with a single image in mind for the content of the photoshoot for the artwork for SUB ROSA; a Cleopatra-esque milk bath.

After procuring 4 gallons of milk, essential oils, and a heroic amount of candles, they settled in for a photoshoot in the tub of Prout’s home in Kensington. The resulting photos, according to Shebear, were “pure magic” and convey a feeling of lush infatuation while also telegraphing a moment of vulnerability and fragility that is the human spirit. Much like a very pruney Shebear, the entire endeavour was a reemergence, completing the cycle of life, death, and the metamorphosis of rebirth.
